Item Details

The Real Car

The Ford GT40 Mk II was the 7-litre 427-engined development built to beat Ferrari at Le Mans. In 1966 Ford took a 1–2–3 finish; Ken Miles and Denny Hulme in the sister Mk II were denied the official win only by Ford’s staged-finish order. The Mk II’s 485 bhp big-block and reinforced chassis made it the car that ended Ferrari’s Le Mans dominance. Bang’s Italian 1:43 series covered several of the 1966 team cars.
