hello i am listing this lot of 8 trunk brace hardware parts for bid. these 8 pieces make a total of 4 sets. these pieces can be used for a variety of uses on old steamer trunks. these are braces that are meant to go along 2 boards running parallel to each other so they create stiffness in a wooden trunk panel. when you place 2 boards together like the side of a trunk you nail or screw one of these to each board so they hold everything together nice and tight and stiff. these can also be used as guides when a lid is closing. some people also use the one half of these as a 2 fingered pull for drawers and such. they work great for that. 
these pieces are BRAND NEW NEW OLD STOCK hardware material that came from an antique trunk luggage making shop. this business had all brand new hardware from between the 1900s up to the 1980's.....most of the 1980s stuff was all plastic so i would place these ORIGINALS at a minimum 1960 or probably older. they are clean, original and would be perfect for someone building a steamer trunk, repairing a steam trunk, or restoring one that wants an accurate period correct replacement. these could probably be cleaned up even nicer if the winning bidder wants to. there is a tiny amount of rust on the backside of these but that is the side that will be covered up when mounted.
These pieces were in nice condition originally, then ran through a tumbler to safely clean them......There is a few small areas of rust on these that i tried to take closeups of. These would ALL cleanup nicer if someone wants to spend the time to "detail them" or polish them.  The brownness you see on the backside is the dust from the media i use in the tumbler......
The one piece has 2 scratches in the metal that i took a closeup of. These are all new and unused and have been sitting in a luggage shop. These would be great to use on your vintage luggage or steamer trunk project!
