Vintage Royal Bayreuth Bavaria porcelain pitcher with hand-painted rooster decoration.
The bulbous pitcher narrows at the neck and flares into a wavy trilobed rim with a pinched spout and high-arching angular handle. The lower half is finished in a vibrant tomato-red glaze, while a wide cream band around the shoulder carries a painted pastoral scene of two roosters in confrontation with green trees and a stone urn; the rim is white with a thin green painted edge.
The base carries the blue Royal Bayreuth mark: "Royal Bayreuth" arched over a shield with two lions, "P T" inside the shield, "PRIV. 1794" on a ribbon, and "BAVARIA" below.
Measures approximately 6.6 x 5.5 inches and 6.6 inches tall.
Condition: good — no chips or cracks; a small dark nick/manufacturing flaw on the upper rim edge above the rooster scene, light rubbing on the green rim edge, tiny firing specks in the interior, and staining/scuffing on the unglazed foot ring.
