The leather cover is quite worn and cracked where the leather has become dry. The front board is quite loose. The metalwork is dull - one of the clasps is missing and one of the rear cornerpieces is also missing. The remaining metalwork is a little loose.

Internally the pages are generally in good condition throughout. There is some age toning and foxing in places, plus some water staining at the top of some of the pages (as shown in the photos). The Family Register is blank.

Includes various illustrations by Gustave Dore and David Roberts.
