The volume has been rebound in cloth by a library, with the covers being rubbed worn and marked in places. There is a library index number "745" on the spine.
Internally there is a library card tipped onto a front endpaper denoting "Reference Only".
Fortunately the librarian has been very sparing with stamping. There are only a few small purple, circular, library stamps on the following pages: v (preface), 17, 61, 89, 143, xxv (appendix) plus a few on the rear of the plate pages. There are none on the front of any of the plate pages.
A few page edges are chipped and have been carefully strengthened. There is some age toning to the edge of some of the pages and there are some brown marks on pages 65-67 and 88-91.
** IMPORTANT NOTE **
There are only 35 colour plates at the rear of this volume (out of 40 listed).
There are also 35 indexed tissue guards at the rear but the plates and guards do not align and are bound out of sequence in several places.
