A very attractive vintage Felicia De Luxe Swiss automatic, with a classic mid-century dress-watch design and a nicely proportioned gold-plated case.

The silver sunburst dial is particularly appealing, with applied gold-tone hour markers, large Arabic numerals at 12 and 6, elegant dauphine-style hands and the distinctive red star above 6 o’clock. The dial is signed Felicia De Luxe, Automatic 30 Jewels and Swiss Made.

Importantly, the case is stamped “PLAQUÉ OR G 20”, confirming a substantial 20-micron gold-plated case, rather than simply a gold-coloured finish. The stainless-steel screw back is marked Automatic, Shock Protected and Swiss Made.

The watch shows genuine vintage character throughout. There are marks and wear to the gold plating, particularly around the case edges and lugs, along with age-related marks to the dial and hands.

The watch is working and running.

The crystal also shows scratches, crazing/marks and wear around its edge, all visible in the photographs.

It is fitted with a black leather-style strap which suits the classic dress-watch look nicely.

A lovely old Swiss automatic with a proper 30-jewel movement, substantial gold plating and loads of vintage character, exactly the sort of watch that deserves to stay on a wrist rather than disappear into a parts box.
