Stunning Art Deco Flapper necklace made of very chunky plastic beads. I couldn't believe it when I spotted this beauty; it looks and feels wonderful - can't stop running it through my hands! It is made of four different beads; a clear orange globe bead that I think is glass, two variations on a chunky moulded hard plastic with an "ethnic" type of design, and green barrel shaped hard plastic beads. Now - this necklace has a definite whiff a bit like sour milk, so I suspect that the green beads are galalith - BUT I am only just learning about early plastics, and don't have any identified galalith to compare it to - so please do ask me any questions before purchasing if the exact composition is important to you. The beads are all individually knotted into place on a strong heavy cord.
The ethnic style beads look a bit dusty - I have cleaned them very lightly and carefully; they may clean up better or the marks may be permanent. These beads have remnants of gold tone paint in places. The clear orange and opaque green beads are in great condition - there may be a chip or two but so far I haven't spotted any.
Size: really long at 54", so it falls below my waist (I'm medium height female)
