1987 Paramount Home Video Edition
This is the collectible 1987 U.S. Paramount Home Video VHS release of Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives, issued shortly after the film’s 1986 theatrical release.
The original slipcase features the memorable Jason hockey-mask artwork with beams of light shining through the mask, the red Friday the 13th Part VI title treatment and the Jason Lives tombstone artwork.
Most importantly for identifying this particular release, this is the 1987 Paramount Home Video edition, featuring the Paramount 75th Anniversary logo prominently on the front packaging. It should not be confused with the later 1994 Paramount/Gateway VHS reissue.
The combination of the 1987 release, Paramount 75th Anniversary packaging, original-era artwork and surviving vintage shrinkwrap makes this a particularly desirable edition for collectors of early Friday the 13th home-video releases.
Condition
Brand new vintage sealed condition.
This VHS remains sealed in its vintage shrinkwrap. The original slipcase retains strong color and vivid artwork and presents very well for a nearly 40-year-old horror VHS.
The shrinkwrap shows age-related wrinkling, pulling and wear, particularly around the bottom opening, corners and upper edges. There is visible edge and corner wear to the slipcase beneath the wrap, including wear around the lower corners. The original Paramount seal/security tape remains visible across the bottom opening.
The Paramount 75th Anniversary logo remains clearly visible on the front and is an important identifying feature of this 1987 edition.
Please review all photographs carefully for the exact condition of the original box, edges, corners, shrinkwrap, seals and stickers. Photos are part of the condition description and show the exact copy you will receive.
A great piece for collectors of Friday the 13th, Jason Voorhees, Jason Lives, Paramount Home Video, 1987 VHS releases, Paramount 75th Anniversary releases, sealed VHS, 1980s horror and classic slasher films.
