Up for sale is a rare, early 1920s Federal Telephone & Telegraph Co. (Buffalo, N.Y.) Type 135 Radio Panel. These un-cased "music panels" were originally manufactured and sold by Federal specifically for custom installations, designed to be built directly into phonograph consoles, custom cabinets, or fine furniture.
Front Panel: Excellent aesthetic condition with clear, legible engraved lettering ("Federal Telephone & Telegraph Co. Buffalo, N.Y. U.S.A.", "WAVE LENGTH", "VERNIER", "SELECTIVITY", etc.). Free of cracks, scratches, or chips around the perimeter mounting holes. Panel measures 10-3/4 X 17-1/4 inches.
Tubes Included: Comes fitted with four balloon-style vintage vacuum tubes mounted through the front face. Tubes are untested.
Rear Assembly: Features original components including the green silk-wrapped variocoupler/tuning coil, audio transformers, binding posts, and bus-wire routing.
Note on Shock Mount: The internal suspended sub-panel holding the upper tube sockets was originally hung on canvas shock-absorbing webbing. This canvas has degraded due to age, so the upper socket bar is currently sitting loose inside and will need fresh webbing or minor mechanical restoration if you intend to re-mount it rigidly.
Sold strictly as-is, untested for restoration, display, or custom cabinet installation.
