This is a used two-piece set (main tester and remote tester), each fitted with a DSX-5000 CableAnalyzer copper module. The link interface adapter connectors on all four adapters were checked and show no bent, missing or corroded pins, and the latches are present; the permanent link adapter cables show no kinks or damaged jackets. Normal handling marks consistent with field use may be present, so please review all photos.
Operation Check
Both the main and remote testers powered on under battery power. Set Reference was completed successfully between the two units and the tester displayed the reference-complete message. An Autotest was then run in channel configuration using the two channel adapters and the tester returned a PASS result. The HDTDR and HDTDX diagnostic analyzers were opened and both displayed waveforms with normal cursor readouts. The TALK function was checked with a headset connected: the remote TALK LED lit green and the main unit showed the talk-enabled indication with the volume slider (actual voice audio was not listened to). An Autotest in permanent link configuration was NOT performed because no RJ45 female-to-female coupler, patch panel or wall outlet was available for the test, so permanent link testing is unverified. NVP verification, shield continuity test, AC wire map and USB save/recall were also not performed. The internal real-time clock does not hold the correct date and reverts to a default date, which may indicate a depleted backup cell; this does not affect measurement operation but timestamps on saved results will be incorrect. Software options and license status were not checked. Test records from the previous owner remain in the internal memory and will be deleted before shipment.

The Fluke Networks DSX-5000 CableAnalyzer is the copper certification tester of the Versiv cabling certification family, used to certify, troubleshoot and document twisted pair network cabling. The DSX-5000 certifies twisted pair links up to Cat 6A / Class FA with a 1000 MHz measurement bandwidth and Level VI accuracy, and provides wire map, insertion loss, return loss, NEXT and PS NEXT results together with HDTDR and HDTDX diagnostics for pinpointing faults along a link. A complete certification set consists of a main tester and a remote tester, each fitted with a CableAnalyzer module, plus link interface adapters for permanent link and channel test configurations; results can be exported for professional test reports.
