MAX7219 DOT Matrix 8X8 8X32 Display Module with Cables for Raspberry Pi
MAX7219 is an integrated serial input/output common cathode display driver that connects a microprocessor to an 8-bit 7-segment digital LED display, as well as a bar graph display or 64 independent LEDs. It includes an on chip B-type BCD encoder, multi scan circuit, segment word driver, and an 8 * 8 static RAM for storing each data. There is only one external register used to set the segment current of each LED.
A convenient four wire serial interface can connect to general-purpose microprocessors. Each data can be addressed without the need to overwrite all displays during updates. MAX7219 also allows users to choose whether to encode or not to encode each data. The entire device includes a 150 μ A's low-power off mode, analog and digital brightness control, a scan limit register allowing users to display 1-8 bits of data, and a detection mode that causes all LEDs to light up. Only 3 IO ports are needed to drive 1 dot matrix, and there is no flicker when displaying the dot matrix, supporting cascading.
8 X 8 Product parameters:
A single module can drive an 8 * 8 common cathode lattice
Working voltage: 5V
Size: 3.2 (length) * 3.2 (width) * 1.3 (height) cm
With 4 screw holes, aperture 3mm
With input output interface, supporting cascading of multiple modules
Available in three colors: red, blue, and green
Attention: When welding the dot matrix and base plate, there may be some unevenness and skewness. If you mind, do not buy.
Instructions for use:
1. The left side of the module is the input port, and the right side is the output port
2. When controlling a single module, only the input port needs to be connected to the CPU
3. When multiple modules are cascaded, the input terminal of the first module is connected to the CPU, the output terminal is connected to the input terminal of the second module, the output terminal of the second module is connected to the input terminal of the third module, and so on.
