Description:
Up for sale is a beautiful, large vintage Stangl Art Pottery Double Hummingbirds figurine, model #3599. This stunning piece features intricate hand-painted details inspired by Audubon illustrations, showcasing two vibrant hummingbirds amidst large green leaves and a delicate pink bell flower. The underside bears the authentic "Stangl" blue ink backstamp, stamped model number 3599, and the hand-painted initials of the finishing artist ("V.H.").
Important Condition Note (Please Read Before Bidding):
This piece suffered damage in the past. A section of the leaf assembly on the lower right side broke off. A previous owner attempted a creative repair by attaching and gluing a separate, small painted ceramic mushroom finial directly over the fracture site. The glue ring is visible around the base of the mushroom stem. Despite this modification, the main body of the hummingbirds, the central tall leaf, and the pink flower remain entirely structurally sound, boasting excellent glossy glaze coverage and no other cracks.
This is a fantastic opportunity to add a substantial, hard-to-find Stangl bird sculpture to your collection at a fraction of the price of a pristine piece. Perfect for display as-is, or as a restoration project for a ceramic hobbyist.
