All items are original first limited-edition releases. No recently issued reissues are included. Every item comes with its original obi strip, and all opened discs are in excellent condition.

Collection Details

  • This collection comprises a total of 119 ESOTERIC SACD Hybrid sets, including Sir Georg Solti’s Der Ring des Nibelungen, commonly known as the “Red Box.”
  • Of the 119 sets, 78 sets (approximately 66%) are brand new and factory sealed.
  • The remaining 41 opened sets are in like-new condition and were played only once for ripping.
  • All 119 sets include their original obi strips.
  • Also included are three analog LP records, all with their original obi strips and in excellent condition.
  • The collection includes five of the earliest Günter Wand releases produced in collaboration between BMG and ESOTERIC.
  • It contains a complete consecutive run of 119 original first limited-edition sets, beginning with ESOTERIC’s earliest Günter Wand five-disc set of Beethoven’s complete symphonies and continuing through Herbert von Karajan and the Vienna Philharmonic’s three-disc set of Tchaikovsky’s Symphonies Nos. 4, 5 and 6 (ESSG-90197–90199).
  • Miyuji Kaneko’s Piano Works Collections Vol. 1 and 2 (ESSO-10000–10001) are both brand new and factory sealed.
  • It is extremely difficult to find a complete consecutive collection of original first limited-edition releases from ESOTERIC’s earliest issues through ESSG-90199 in this condition.

About Sir Georg Solti’s Der Ring des Nibelungen

The copy of Der Ring des Nibelungen included in this collection is the original first limited edition, commonly known as the “Red Box.” It was released in 2009 as an advance-reservation limited edition and was sold exclusively through authorized ESOTERIC dealers, with production strictly limited to only 1,000 sets worldwide.

The outer shipping carton was opened only to verify the contents. The disc packages and other contents remain unopened and unused.
