One of Vogue's large envelope patterns by renown designer Jean Desses
This is an unprinted pattern from, I believe, 1961
This jacket has a lovely shape, with 3/4 length kimono sleeves, a button front and optional little rounded collar. The bottom of the jacket has a scalloped front. Teaming perfectly with the flattering dress which has the option of a rounded back neckline or a deep oval neckline giving a low back. The skirt is slimline with released dart pleats and joins the lining under the bodice helping to create a bloused waist - see the pleats just above the bow at the waist. An interesting shape and a good pattern to try if you have never used an unprinted pattern before especially as the jacket is easy fitting and it is nice to see that there are are several options within the pattern
Pattern does not seem to have been used - it is unprinted, therefore cut apart. For size 16 which was a 36" bust - this is now a pattern size 14
Pattern has been checked and is complete
The pattern envelope is in good condition especially for its age. The only part which is not so good is the top flap which has been half removed and the remainder is marked, otherwise it is very good for something over 60 years old!
