Cosmetically the indicator body shows scratches but no large dents, and the probe shaft has scuff marks. The metal mesh filter at the probe tip is deformed with light discoloration and scuffs, so replacement of the filter is recommended before practical use, and the rating label surface is dirty and scratched. One of the supplied connection cables has a split in the outer jacket at the base of the round connector with an inner wire exposed, so it was not energized and should be repaired or replaced.
Operation Check
Power on confirmed using the internal rechargeable battery, and the display shows measurement screens. Relative humidity and temperature readings were displayed and responded to changes in the environment, and the calculated dew point value was consistent with the displayed humidity and temperature. Hold/Save, graphic display, data recording and the alarm function (audible beep and backlight flashing on threshold exceedance, setting returned to default afterwards) were all confirmed to operate. Analog output and PC communication with the MI70 Link software were NOT verified because the supplied D-sub to round-connector cable has a damaged jacket and was not powered for safety. Measurement accuracy was not verified against a reference standard, and no calibration was performed by us. Firmware shown on screen: indicator 2.12, probe 3.09.

The Vaisala HM70 is a professional handheld humidity and temperature meter consisting of the MI70 measurement indicator and an interchangeable HUMICAP humidity probe. It displays relative humidity and temperature together with calculated quantities such as dew point, and supports data logging, graphical trend display, hold/save and alarm functions, with a rechargeable battery and AC adapter operation. It is widely used for spot checks in HVAC, cleanrooms, pharmaceutical and industrial process environments, and for field verification of installed humidity transmitters.
