Vintage-style Mexican Zapotec hand-woven flat-weave accent rug in a geometric design.
Purchased in Mexico in 1990s.
Woven in a flat weave with six stepped diamond motifs in three pairs — charcoal-outlined with grey and tan, and maroon-outlined with teal and tan centers — on a natural cream ground, framed by bands of charcoal, turquoise/teal, dusty rose, and brown, with thick twisted cream fringe at both ends.
Approx. 40.5" x 23" (excluding fringe). Weight approx. 1 lb 7 oz.
Condition: Good to very good used condition. No stains, holes, fraying, or fading; colors consistent and vibrant. The center shows rippling from folded storage and the weave narrows slightly mid-rug, typical of handwoven pieces; may relax with use or blocking. Fringe intact, slightly tangled. No maker's tag or label; wool (or wool-blend) with cotton fringe.
