A 1st printing of the special limited-edition sprayed edges UK HB release of this hugely acclaimed novel from American author, poet and essayist Barbara Kingsolver.   This book took the literary world by storm, being named the co-winner of the 2023 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, the winner of the 2023 Women's Prize for Fiction (a groundbreaking 2nd win for the author) and the winner of the oldest literary award, the James Tait Black Prize.




When the 2023 Booker Prize Longlist was announced, it would be reasonable to say that there was widespread consternation amongst the 'bookish' community that this novel was, very surprisingly, not one of the 13 books selected by the judges.  Nearly all reviewers I saw had this as a selection, with many indicating it was, in their view, the best novel they had read in 2023.   I'm sure there will be commentary around which are the best eligible novels not to have even made it to that year's Booker longlist, and this must surely be one of them.

Internally in fine condition with a blue ribbon page marker.  I don't know the history of this book, so I will assess this as a carefully read example, rather than unread.


Externally in near very good condition, with some storage bumping, which this release in both its UK and US HB editions is very prone to.   This exclusive edition has a sprayed pattern to the fore-edge of the text block, the top and bottom edges are sprayed black.  


Some storage wear around the spine ends (mainly at the head of the spine) and gutter ends, light rounding to upper front corner, bump to upper rear corner (photo 9).  Light marks/dust to the top and bottom black edges.  Dustjacket unclipped at £20, small 'includes exclusive material' roundel sticker to the front panel, storage wear at spine ends and corners per wear to the book.
