This set of four hand forged metal spearheads represent the adaptation of post-contact materials into traditional Aboriginal toolmaking practices during the 19th and early 20th centuries. They were collected on a property in Western Queensland where natives would have blacksmiths these hand crafted from iron often adapted from introduced European agricultural tools or scrap metal showing a heavy aged patina surface oxidation and characteristic hand-hammered pitting.
