Uniformly bound in the publisher's attractive olive/light-green cloth, with extensive gilt decoration to the spines and front boards.
The front boards have gilt decorative borders and ornamental tooling, while the spines are attractively lettered and decorated in gilt.
A very handsome example of mid-twentieth-century Bible typography and book design.
Illustrated with 105 reproductions of sixteenth-century woodcuts by Bernard Salomon, including attractive illustrations at the openings of biblical books.
The combination of traditional typography, generous margins and Renaissance woodcut illustrations makes this a particularly pleasing edition for reading as well as display.
A very attractive set in very good overall condition.
The original cloth bindings remain remarkably clean and bright, with the gilt decoration displaying very well.

There is some minor age-related wear and occasional marks to the page edges/text blocks.
