Item Description
Vintage Soviet Metal Perpetual Desk Flip-Over Calendar "Leningrad Admiralty" – 1960s/1970s USSR
Up for sale is an authentic piece of Soviet mid-century industrial design – a mechanical perpetual desktop flip calendar. This iconic souvenir was manufactured at the famous Leningrad Mint (LMD) of Goznak in the USSR.
Design & Features:
- Front Emblem: Features a beautiful relief medallion depicting the famous Admiralty building spire in Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg), framed by a laurel wreath.
- Mechanism: "Flip-over" gravity mechanism. Simply rotate the main body 180 degrees, and the internal metal plates change the date automatically under their own weight. The day of the week is advanced manually via the side roller knob.
Dimensions:
- Height: 10.5 cm (approx. 4.13 inches)
- Base size: 6.5 x 7.5 cm (approx. 2.55 x 2.95 inches)
Condition Report (Vintage / Used):
- Mechanical Status: The flip-over mechanism is in working order. Dates change, and the day-of-the-week scroll functions.
- Cosmetic Status: True vintage condition with signs of age and time. There are noticeable scuffs, scratches, and minor oxidation spots on the metal surface (please examine photos closely).
- Flaws/Missing Parts: Please note that the interchangeable cards/plates for the months are missing (only dates and weekdays are available). The bottom features the original blue protective backing with some wear and tear.
Perfect for collectors of Soviet vintage, antique office accessories, or unique mid-century desktop decor.
