Fully restored 1970 Mustang Boss 302. Not a clone or tribute. Actual G Code Boss 302 Carefully rebuilt rotisserie restoration. Fully rebuilt drivetrain. Mostly faithful restoration. Some bolt on upgrades but nothing that can’t be returned to factory stock.
Marti report:
Rear Deck Spoiler
4 Speed Close Ratio Transmission
Shaker Hood Scoop
Sport Slats
Sport Deck rear Seat
AM Radio
Magnum 500 Chrome Wheels
Tachometer
Exceptions:
Rare. Roller trunnion rockers from Factory Trans Am Racing Program
3.9 Rear end ratio instead of 3.5 (A must for the close ratio transmission)
Complete Ride Tech coil over suspension with Tubular “Hard Bars” arms.
Global West Aluminum / Delrin Spring bushings (No cheap rubber bushings on my car)
17” American Racing wheels instead of Magnum 500s(No modern tires available for 15” wheels)
Borgeson Power Steering (Manual steering with modern wide wheels and tires just not safe.)
Electronic Ignition. (Night and day difference)
Holley 650 Double Pump Carburetor. (More power and much better drivability)
Crower Cam and Springs. (Modern technology, More power and easier to drive)
All easily reversible to stock but not advised as these updates transform the car into a fun and safe driver. Truth be told the Boss is cool but miserable to drive in stock form.
1970 Boss 302 Full Nut and Bolt Rotisserie Restoration. Don’t even know where to start. The car was acid dipped to remove all traces of paint, filler and corrosion. Replaced entire floor instead of Mickey Mouse patches. New full quarters. Entire shell was coated with SPI red oxide (SPI Black for front clip) primer. Entire car was floated and blocked. Not one single part was put on this car that was not refinished, rebuilt or replaced. No bargain parts (e.g. Basecoat paint was $460 / Quart). All new electrics, switches and etc. The tachometer was rebuilt and calibrated as were the speedometer and other gauges. This took almost three years and the result of 1000s of hours of work. No aspect neglected. Underside is beautifully detailed. Even gorgeous under the carpet.
Engine is fully rebuilt. Was stock bore. Had custom .020 pistons made to minimize material removal. Listing everything done would be a full page. Short version is that it would cost at least $25,000 to reproduce. Stock exhaust manifolds, Detailed smog pump. Gorgeous exhaust made in America. Transmission is fully rebuilt original Boss close ratio top loader. Rear end is original Boss 302.
There is just too much for this listing. Took years and 1000s of hours of work. A bottomless budget. A project of a lifetime. Something I’ve always wanted to do. So grateful to my wife for the support and grateful that the she put up with all the aches, pain and bad moods from 100s of hours of block sanding as well as parking her BMW in the driveway so I could get it done.
Probably should mention that this car is a blast to drive. Starts instantly like a fuel injected car. Throttle response is right now. Haven’t reved past 5000 RPM as it has not been broken in. Everything is as stiff as a new car which this pretty much is. In some ways much superior to new.
If you are ready to buy, $1500 deposit ends the listing. The balance is due within 5 days. The car is clean. The title is clean. I am a simple car guy so I am looking for a clean transaction. I am not desperate to sell. If you make any offers that sound sketchy or smell like a scam I will walk away. If you are serious and have the funds I will do whatever possible to help including shipping. The car will not leave my possession until the funds are verified and irrevocably in my account. I will not participate in any escrow service.
Not happy with the photos. They don’t show how stunning the paint is in the sun. Phone camera. Will be posting more photos as I get the opportunity. The underside is spectacular. Feel free to email with questions.
