LACOSTE BARBADOS TP STM

80TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION — 2013

UK 11 / EU 46 / US 12

A genuinely unusual piece of Lacoste history and a superb opportunity for the collector.

Offered here is an original pair of Lacoste Barbados TP STM men’s trainers from the brand’s 2013 80th Anniversary collection, finished in dark navy and preserved in remarkable unworn / new-old-stock condition.

These are not simply a discontinued pair of Lacoste trainers.

Lacoste celebrated its 80th anniversary in 2013 with a series of special collections reinterpreting the company’s sporting and design heritage. British graphic designer Peter Saville created the distinctive anniversary visual language based around circular forms representing the number “80”; variants of that identity appear throughout this set, including the presentation box, insoles, heel embroidery and accompanying multicoloured anniversary accessory. (Lacoste)

The result is a particularly understated anniversary design: almost completely tonal navy footwear, with the conventional branding deliberately giving way to the subtle embroidered 80th Anniversary emblem.

More than a decade after release, finding an example unworn and still accompanied by its complete period packaging is increasingly difficult.

Special anniversary details

The pair incorporates a number of details specific to Lacoste’s 80th-anniversary presentation:

* Embroidered circular “80” emblem to the outer heel
* Special 80th Anniversary insock labels
* Original “LACOSTE — CELEBRATING EIGHTY” presentation box
* Bright yellow anniversary interior with English and French anniversary text
* Original Lacoste-branded tissue paper
* Original swing tags
* Original sealed multicoloured 80th-anniversary branded accessory
* Original retail / size / model labels to box

The multicoloured geometric anniversary imagery is particularly characteristic of Lacoste’s 2013 celebrations and the visual identity associated with Peter Saville’s work for the anniversary.

Condition

NEW WITH BOX / NEW OLD STOCK / DEADSTOCK

The trainers are unworn.

The soles retain their original moulded tread in excellent condition. The suede/leather uppers, stitching, laces, interiors and embroidered anniversary details all present extremely well.

The original tags remain attached and the anniversary accessory remains sealed.

The original presentation box is also included.

Please note that the outer box has some age/storage-related marks, discolouration and minor edge/corner wear, all of which can be seen in the photographs. This is entirely understandable for packaging dating from 2013 and has been deliberately photographed rather than concealed.

The original tissue paper naturally shows creasing from storage.

As these are approximately thirteen-year-old deadstock footwear, they are offered as a collectible older pair despite appearing unworn.

Please examine all photographs carefully as they form an important part of the description.

Why this pair is special

Lacoste’s 80th anniversary represented a significant moment in the company’s design history, with the brand using its 1933–2013 milestone not merely to reproduce older products but to reinterpret its familiar codes, materials and identity.

The anniversary programme also became closely associated with Peter Saville, whose work for Lacoste included the circular 80th-anniversary identity and his celebrated reinterpretations of the crocodile emblem. Lacoste continues to recognise the 2013 Saville project in its official heritage material.

Complete anniversary footwear is considerably less frequently encountered than ordinary production Lacoste trainers, particularly with:

shoes + tags + original box + tissue + anniversary accessory.

An excellent addition to a serious Lacoste archive, Peter Saville/design collection, casual footwear collection or early-2010s sportswear archive.
