These are a pair of AudioEngine A5 modded into a PASSIVE pair of bookshelf speakers. There is no working amp inside the left speaker. The terminals have been made to connect straight to the crossover board. To power them, simply connect them to your amplifier of choice as if you're connecting any other passive speaker. A pair of hand-made BFA cables included.

I have taped over the power connections. Plugging them in won't do anything and I'd err on the side of caution you simply don't. Volume knob and AUX/USB input won't do anything either.

Impedance is 4 Ohms.

The terminals that came with these were mini versions so I've changed them out for ones that can accept normal banana/BFA plugs. A pack of speaker feet will be provided as a gift.

The outer appearance is in fair condition. There are scuffs, scratches, and marks all over the speakers. They would benefit from a fresh coat of paint/vinyl.

This was a passion project. These sound great despite their rough appearance and I'd be happy if these find themselves in a good home.
