Here we have a beautiful and matching pair of top quality sterling silver Champagne / wine bottles coasters with bulbous & high gallery.

Standard Magnum bottles will fit comfortably.

John Grinsell & Sons are renowned and highly collectible Birmingham silversmith 

Specializing in fine silver-mounted glassware, and decorative tableware.

John Grinsell was active in 1864, found his company in 1871.

Become a limited company with his four sons in 1905.

The family firm was so successful that they opened showroom at 19 Charterhouse street, Holbrook Circus, London.

They continued production into late 1930 and being taken over by Baker Ellis & Co.

Very rare to find a matching pair of these top quality coasters by John Grinsell & Sons especially in such a good condition, they are fully matching in Style, maker, assay & year. 

They are highly sought after and very collectable.

Beautifully made with high bulbous ( Pot belly ) gallery sides with a very good gauge of sterling silver, nicely centre turned polished dark satin  wooden base.

These coasters are in exceptional condition , very stylish and in fabulous quality.

Both Coasters have identical Registration numbers stamped next to the hallmarks.

Hallmarks are deep and clear, easily readable. ( please see photos )

Condition 

Excellent condition, No nasty dents, dints or nasty scratches, gallery is perfect no twists or buckles. Hallmarks are clear and easily readable.

Beautiful turned & polished wood base, No dents, dints or nasty scratches.

  Green Baize / Felt is in immaculate condition ( brand new & professionally fitted ) 

Sterling silver is of a good gauge and has a wonderful bright shine, polished and in excellent order.

May show some signs of wear commensurate with age and use, however they would be very minor and light.
