Laika is unjointed, and made from long light blonde mohair on her body and tail, and shorter blonde mohair on her face and legs. She has lovely brown airbrushed highlights and black hand embroidered claws. Her face is detailed by tri-colored glass eyes and a hand embroidered nose and mouth

Laika measures 10" L from tail to tip of nose & 10" H from feet to tip of ears - I believe she is the largest one

She has her Steiff Button, but not her tag - she is in very good pre owned displayed condition - her squeaker unfortunately does not work

On November 3, 1957, the Russians launched the spacecraft Sputnik 2; its passenger was Laika (which translates into "barker") the dog. Laika would become the first animal to orbit the Earth
