Provenance: The handwritten name at the top of the first page refers to Charles Olden (often spelled or C. Oldden), the subscriber of the newspaper. Olden was a prominent high-end Philadelphia merchant and tailor active in the late 18th century. The Olden/Oldden family was a well-known Quaker family with deep roots extending into Princeton, New Jersey.
Condition: Fair to Good for 234 years. Age toning throughout. Light foxing scattered. Tide mark visible on right edge of front page. Minor edge chipping and small marginal tears. Typical mailing folds. Period owner signature "E. Olden" on front page. Text fully legible throughout. There is a handwritten note that may be a subscriber note: "Says a correspondent", which appears under a column on the right side of page 3 under a short entry titled "SAYS A CORRESPONDENT."
