For sale is a lovely vintage Bedford Plate silver-plated preserve set in excellent condition, complete in its original presentation box.

The set comprises a preserve spoon and a matching server, both in the classic plain Old English style — clean, unfussy lines that sit well with almost any period table. An elegant addition to an afternoon tea or breakfast setting, or a handsome display piece.

The set:

• Marked BEDFORD PLATE and EPNS·A — Electro Plated Nickel Silver, "A" being the maker's own quality designation
• Made in England
• Preserve/jam spoon with round bowl
• Matching server with a crescent scoop blade set across the handle
• Each piece measures 8cm long
• Very nice condition — minimal wear, bright silver finish
• Weight out of box: 45g

• Original dark brown embossed leather-look presentation case
• Cream satin lid lining, black velvet fitted base
• Brass clasp fittings
• Original celluloid label intact, reading "Bedford Plate 10 Year Guarantee — Made in England" (a period detail; the guarantee itself expired long ago)
