Vintage 1964 Mattel Miss Barbie doll, model produced with sleep eyes and interchangeable wigs. She has blue open and close eyes, painted facial features and bendable knees.
Marked © 1958 Mattel, Inc., U.S. Patented / U.S. Pat. Pend. on the body. Miss Barbie was introduced in 1964 and was designed to wear interchangeable wigs rather than having traditionally rooted hair.
Doll comes with all three wigs: red/auburn, blonde and dark brunette. Also included are her original pink swimsuit and matching fringed swim cap/hat.
Her sleep eyes open and close freely. Head remains firmly attached to the neck knob, her head turns/spins more easily than expected. This may be related to deterioration of the original internal neck washer/grommet, the doll has not been taken apart to confirm this as being the cause
Fingernail polish remains intact. Bendable vinyl knees work and hold all three positions. Legs are tight and are not loose. Arms tight and hold all poses.

Vintage preowned doll with some condition issues and sold as shown. The wig currently on the doll has melted/adhered to the head, leaving melt marks around the hairline/head area. The dark brunette wig has also melted/adhered to what appears to be its original wig stand. The blonde wig is loose.
Doll has age-related marks and discoloration (darken arms and legs, dark spots on leg). There are small indentations/marks on the lower legs, including the areas shown in the photographs. Head is firmly attached but rotates more easily than it should. Sleep eyes open and close freely. Bendable knees hold all three positions and legs remain tight. Fingernail polish is intact.

Original swimsuit and hat are included. Fabric has age-related dinginess, discoloration and wear but no holes were observed. Please examine all photographs carefully, particularly the close-ups of the head, wigs, legs and feet. This doll is best suited for restoration, parts, display as-is, or an experienced vintage Barbie collector.
