Tested / working
The iBook powers on successfully and the screen is working.
It also boots from CD and reaches the Mac OS installation screen, as shown in the photographs. This confirms that the optical drive is reading discs and that the machine is capable of booting into the installer.
Missing / faults
Please note the following before buying:
* Hard drive is missing * Requires a compatible 2.5-inch IDE/PATA hard drive or suitable solid-state replacement * Apple AirPort wireless card is not fitted * RAM expansion slot is empty, although the original 128MB onboard RAM is present * Battery does not hold charge * Machine therefore needs to remain connected to mains power during use * Cosmetic wear, marks and age-related discolouration consistent with a vintage laptop
The machine has not been fully tested beyond powering on and booting from CD, so it is being sold as a restoration/project machine.
