Nice lot of 8 large size coat buttons of the General Service type.  All have dents and pushes.  These date to the late 1860s or early 1870s.  These came from the collection of an elderly man (now deceased) from Tucson who used to metal detect in southern Arizona.  These were in a box of relics marked "Old Camp Grant."  Old Camp Grant was located on the San Pedro River south of Winkelman and was built in the 1860s, and remained in use until the early 1870s.  It is located on private property and today several houses sit on top of the site.  Old Camp Grant was also the site of the Aravaipa Apache Indian Agency, and the Camp Grant Massacre took place near here in 1871.
