This bid is for a Vintage WW2 Picture Poster depicting a Group of WAAF’s (Women’s Auxiliary Air Force) personnel, raising or lowering WW2 Barrage Balloons on a balloon site on the outskirts of Coventry. This picture was originally painted by Dame Laura Knight who was a prolific artist during WW2, painting many images of females performing military service on the home front and entitled this particular picture as ‘Balloon Site, Coventry 1943’. This vintage print copy was printed on newspaper quality paper and measures 22¾ inches x 16¼ inches with the inner picture measuring 18½ inches x 14 inches. This poster was purchased within a batch of GENUINE WW2 newspapers, but this could be a reproduction re-issued in the 1970’s, it’s very difficult to tell so please look closely before bidding. As can be seen from the pictures, this poster has been originally folded but is in a very good used condition as it shows evidence of being hung on a wall on the back (see picture). It will be posted as originally found, folded and in a hard backed large envelope. PLEASE NOTE that I will ship WORLDWIDE. If you have any questions, please ask before bidding. Buyer to pay post & packing, various methods available and I am happy to combine postage, please ask. For UK payments I accept standard issued cheques from any UK bank or postal orders and of course eBay and PayPal for both domestic and international payments. For International bids please ask for shipping costs before bidding and I will only accept payment by eBay or PayPal in GBP. Please see my other bids. Thank you for looking.
