This antique silver sash buckle was hand crafted in Burma likely late 19th to early 20th century using the repousse technique in which the design is hammered from the back to create deep relief then finished with fine hand piercing in the scrollwork background. The front shows a crowned figure flanked by two attendants above a saddled horse drawn from Burmese courtly imagery. The reverse has a pin and catch closure and a coppery tint consistent with a coin silver alloy, acid tested. No maker mark, typical for hand made pieces of this type. Purchased in Rangoon Burma  in the mid to late 1950s by a senior US Embassy official, kept in the family since. Measures 3.5 by 3 inches weighs 60.9 grams.
