1965 LHD Citroen Ami, runs and drives. New battery.

The insurance renewal came around, at which point I realised I hadn't driven it once in a year, so it's time for it to find a new home.

I've had it about 5 years, the previous owner had a lot of work done to the floorpans, and the chassis is good, so it's basically solid. Unfortunately, the chap he bought it from - the importer - was a bodger, and the stuff he covered up with wob and paint is starting to come to light, so welding is going to be needed in a couple of areas (see photos). I had the starter reconditioned a few years ago, and £1000 was spent on the front brakes and a couple of other jobs not that many miles ago. The seats were completely shot, so I bought a new set of covers from Der Franzose.

Current issues include the wipers not working - the motor is peculiar to the Ami and pretty much unobtainable; the 'reconditioned' one I bought is little better than the original. The synchro on the 60 year old gearbox is well worn, so double declutching is needed. The headlining needs reattaching, as do some of the door cards. The dash and mirror were removed to get the wiper motor off. All these parts are with the car. The period Philips radio pictured isn't actually a radio, but a Bluetooth speaker powered by it's own internal battery. This is all academic, as you can't hear it over the racket from the engine anyway :)
