Originally built as a Press/Demo car for Crewe, it was sold at 5 years old to Chester City Council for Official Mayoral Service.

It served for under 10 years before being sold to a Hotel, presumably for guest transport, but they didn't use it for long as it was laid up and has been untaxed and without MOT since 1989.

I have the service book and continuation book - mechanically very good and the 110,000 miles were covered by chauffeur and with regular servicing so should be like new. Tons of old invoices and letters where the car was properly looked after in service.

But make no mistake, it needs restoration work.

I purchased it as a non-runner, as I had just finished the 10 year rolling restoration of my standard wheelbase Shadow, also from 1975.

I have managed to get this running now, having purchased a new distributor and had it fully reconditioned, purchased a new coil and fitted a new ballast resistor. Please note the coil has not been properly bolted in so needs fitting properly at some stage, but it is running on a secondary fuel supply for now.

Hydraulics need full overhaul.

Paint needs work.

Wood lacquer needs doing all over.

Paint needs work.

Stitching on rear seat has come away on one end, but leather is thankfully undamaged.

I have the full build sheets. I have newspaper scans from when it was purchased by the council and when it was in use, a couple of which are attached.

Proper limousine spec: Black leather to front, blue leather to rear. Electric division (working). Peacock blue with black everflex.

It needs the relay for the gearbox under the steering wheel and the embellishers for the hubcaps. Otherwise I believe it is complete.

This needs restoration but is a worthy contender in my mind.

I have my other Shadow, a modern Bentley Continental, and a project Turbo R, amongst other non RR&B cars and need the garage space for the winter hence the sale.

I have had this advertised elsewhere but been messed about with by a chap who was buying it but working away and dragged me along for months. So if you win this please note collection is required within a week or a deposit made in that timeframe if collection is longer than a week.
