1947 Original Political Cartoon Art "There Are Other Things of More Importance"

This is not a newspaper clipping, later print, or reproduction.  It is a large-format original drawing created as working artwork for newspaper reproduction, complete with handwritten editorial/reproduction markings.

In this rare case, the artist's original pencil sketch is included with the final artwork signed "Mort" by the artist.

Dated August 10, 1947.  The handwritten caption reads "There Are Other Things of More Importance"

The U.S. Housing Program is central to the imagery, suggesting a critique of government initiatives or their implementation.  The scattered labels like "Eviction Notices," "Contradictions," and "Investigations" point to potential problems, mismanagement or scandals associated with the program.

The sheet measures approximately 22 1/4" tall by 15 1/4" wide.  Very good vintage condition.
