1918 Labiche and Martin's La Poudre Aux Yeux Comedie Hardcover Vaudeville
Antique book from 1918. Cover shows wear, inside has some writing inside front cover, minimal foxing, page 3 has a rip and so does page 8. All in all, book is in decent shape for it's age of 108+ years old. You may find other marks as I did not examine every single page. The introduction is written in English while the remainder is written in French. After the play, there is a section of exercises and then a section of vocabulary. Please see photos for true condition.
"La Poudre aux yeux (Powder in the Eyes) is a famous 19th-century vaudeville by Eugène Labiche (sometimes associated with Édouard Martin, who collaborated on other works), a classic French social comedy first performed in 1861, satirizing bourgeois vanity and social climbing through the Malingear family's elaborate, false stories to impress the wealthy Ratinois family for a marriage proposal, leading to hilarious chaos and exposing the absurdity of appearances."
