The ball is built from fitted map segments with a gold colored grid and place names set into a deep blue ocean field. The ball sits in the frame and the photos show it set to an Atlantic view and to a Pacific view. The wide outer horizon ring carries a printed scale and the inner meridian ring is graduated in degrees. The three legs end in claw feet around a ball center post.

Against the ruler in the photos the piece stands about 3.75 in tall and the outer ring measures about 4 in across.

Condition is used with light wear. The brass tone surfaces have scuffing and darker patches, heaviest on the horizon ring and on the open underside of the base. Thin seam lines show where the map segments meet, which is normal for this construction. No cracks or chips are visible in the ball. The bright rectangular patches on the ball in the photos are reflections from the lighting, not damage.

No maker mark, model number or country stamp is visible in any photo, including the underside, so no brand, age or origin is claimed. The inlay materials are not identified or tested here.
