A 1994 Ovation Adamas II 1681-5 has arrived! This guitar has captivated many, even attracting collectors.
The carvings on the headstock and bridge, in particular, transcend the boundaries of a typical guitar, enhancing its presence. This particular Adamas is a black 1681-5, a full-body model from 1994.
It features an Adamas-exclusive carbon graphite top, approximately one-third the thickness of a wood top yet highly durable, and a Lyrachord resin deep-bowl body back. It also includes Schaller tuners, original fan bracing, and double epaulet soundholes.
The installed preamp is the "OP24." The "OP24" is a preamp with a simple design featuring only "Volume" and a "3-band EQ," and has been used for many years. (Initially, it only had two knobs: Volume and Tone.) Later, around 1995, the preamp was redesigned to include an "Optima" tuner. However, many of these had tuner malfunctions, so popularity remains concentrated on models from around 1994.
Condition-wise, considering its age, it's very clean with minimal signs of use and still meets the expectations of players and collectors. There are some areas where the body's protective film is peeling and some scratches and peeling on the binding.
Even so, the body and overall condition are quite good. The string action is low, making it easy to play.
