In 2022, during a visit to the Martin factory by Japanese dealers—the first such visit in approximately three years due to the impact of COVID-19—a limited edition of 10 000-45 guitars, ordered as a Kurosawa Musical Instruments project, has arrived in superb condition. Features include a genuine mahogany neck, black ebony fingerboard and bridge, 632.5mm scale length, 44.5mm nut width, and Grover tuners.
The Modified Low Oval neck shape, neither too thick nor too thin, combined with the High Performance Taper which provides uniform thickness even in the high positions, results in smooth fingering even in the upper registers. The neck is straight, and there is ample adjustment range in the truss rod.
String height at the 12th fret is approximately 2.5mm on the 6th string side and approximately 1.7mm on the 1st string side, providing comfortable playability. As can be seen in the images, there is slight fret wear on the treble string side in the lower positions, but this is only minimal wear.
While not like new, overall it shows almost no signs of use and remains in beautiful condition. Original hardshell case included Spec.
