This is a traditional vintage Filipino Salakot Sun Hat. It is hand-woven natural split-rattan and fibers, and measures 14.5 inches in diameter

Authentic mid-century split-rattan weave featuring a distinct, intact star-shaped finial on the crown with natural vintage patination.

The underside is structurally excellent. The inner rattan head stabilization ring is completely intact, tightly bound, and mainly free of broken supporting reeds or collapsing zones.

This is a highly collectible ethnographic piece, perfect for display or rustic bohemian home decor!

It has been preserved wrapped and stored for years.
