San Carlos Apache Utilitarian Basket w Double Handles
Rare. This is an unusual utilitarian gathering basket with double handles made by a member of the San Carlos Apache tribe. They wove it of split willow on willow rods in a traditional linear design with polychrome accents in dark brownish black devil's claw. The wire handles & rim are wrapped in white deerskin leather. This measures approx 7” H x 10.5” W x 10.75” D plus additional 1” H handles.
Excellent Condition. White leather is a little soiled, commensurate with age and use.
