Sioux Style Beaded Leather Belt

This lovely vintage belt features a loom beaded strip of glass beads handsewn to deerskin leather. The beaded Sioux style designs were done in cadmium yellow, red, green & dark blue within a periwinkle blue & white framework. Two beaded spherical buttons at the end are meant to be wrapped with the leather thongs to tie the belt closed. This measures approx 31.5" L x 1.25" H and the beads are about 1.5mm W. Since I don't know who made it, I can't call it native American, although it could be! Bead looming was a popular American craft, done by everyone from tribal members to non native Boy Scouts. This would look equally good as a fashion accessory or put on display.

Very Good Condition! Some beads have breakage & one is missing in the blue border, not very noticeable. There is a tiny rip at the plain leather end where the leather tie would go through, which is easily repaired if you want to wear it. Clean with no odors.
