Original Vietnam War-era CISO Indigenous Rucksack, also commonly known among collectors as the LRRP rucksack.

This distinctive field pack was procured through the Counterinsurgency Support Office (CISO). This type is generally understood to have been manufactured in Okinawa with CISO funding and supplied to Vietnam during the war. Indigenous rucksacks of this pattern were used by U.S. Special Forces, CIDG personnel, LRRP units, and other reconnaissance troops, including members of MACV-SOG.

I personally acquired this rucksack from a warehouse in Vietnam around 2000, during one of my buying trips to the country.

It is a standard configuration featuring three large exterior pockets, a map pocket on the back panel, broad padded shoulder straps, and a waist strap. The body is made from water-resistant treated cotton canvas in a distinctive grayish-green color. The securing straps are a lighter OD shade.

The rucksack was used and shows genuine field wear. There are stains, discoloration, surface rubbing, and general wear to the canvas. Several web straps have fraying, worn areas, and old repairs, as shown in the photographs. Despite this wear, the pack retains its overall shape and has no conspicuous major tears or structural damage.

Please examine all photographs carefully for the exact condition, particularly the worn and repaired web straps.
