Beautiful set of four (4) vintage 7-inch appetizer / bread & butter plates from The Essex Collection in the retired "Fruit Punch" pattern. Designed by artist Heather Outlaw Kurpis and handcrafted in Portugal (circa 1999–2002), these vibrant, hand-painted ceramic plates feature whimsical fruit centers set against charming pastel plaid backgrounds. The rims are beautifully detailed with raised, textured white enameled loop swirls and dot borders.
Included in this Set:• Strawberry: Purple/blue plaid center with a yellow and pink border. (Note: Features a small chip on the reverse back rim—see details below).• Blueberry: Blue/white plaid center with a yellow and pink border. (Excellent condition).• Cherry: Yellow/white plaid center with a brown and green border. (Extremely small chips on bottom rim.Not visible on top).• Peach: Pink/white plaid center with a yellow lattice border and lavender rim. (Note: Features a small chip on the reverse back rim—see details below).
Condition:• Vintage Condition with Noted Flaws: Three (3) of the plates (Strawberry, Cherry and Peach) feature a small, shallow chip located on the reverse backside edge/rim. These chips are on the back only—the front hand-painted display faces of all four plates remain beautiful, vibrant, intact, and completely free of chips.• Glaze/Paint: Vibrant colors with minimal to no utensil marks. As is typical with hand-painted Portuguese pottery of this era, minor
manufacturing imperfections or light, faint glaze crazing may be present upon close inspection.•
Backstamp Note: Please note that these specific plates do not feature a maker's mark or backstamp on the reverse side, which is completely standard and common for select production runs of this artisan-painted collection.
