Southern Potteries - also known as Blue Ridge - in Erwin Tennessee made numerous hand-painted dinnerware and decorative pieces from 1918 to 1957.

This salt and pepper set that are usually called "tulip" (but I think they also look like rose buds) are a great example of Blue Ridge's hand-painted decoration.  Simply detailed, both are finished in a white glossy glaze with green leaves and yellow and pink tops.  Both shakers are about 5-3/4 inches tall and 2-1/8 inches in diameter at the base.  The floral top is about 1 inch in diameter at its widest.

Both shakers have 5 holes.

My Mom started her large salt and pepper collection on her honeymoon in 1950 and added to it for another 60 years.  For shakers over 65 years old, these are in very good vintage condition - no chips, hairlines, or crazing - and the color details are vivid.  They are ready to be used, added to a collection, or displayed all on their own.

Ships USPS.
