This is a designer Morris Moskowitz cow print purse that measures 11.5" tall x 6 1/2" wide. The handbag features black and white color faux cowhide print with gold metal chain strap. The strap can be worn short or long. If wearing long the drop length is 10". If chain is doubled that drop is 6". The purse has "kiss closure" and inside is lined in black cloth. There is maker's mark inside, "MM" in script style gold letting. This is a vintage pre-owned item in functional condition. Each side of the bag has a different pattern. The white color has some age yellowing or discoloration. It is clean inside. Designer Morris Moskowitz is known for his prestige handbags for 50 years. This New York designer started small in 1937 after working his way up from working at a sewing notions factory in New York. He became a showroom manager by age 21. He borrowed a small amount from family to start his own handbag company in 1937 with a partner and by the 1940's was advertising in Voque Magazine with his purses. He took off on his own in 1948-1949 with his own line under the "MM" label (as on this handbag). In 1982 he sold the business and retired at age 71. He was a fashion icon for four decades and is represented in The Vintage Purse Museum with a collection of his purses. My photos are of the actual item you are getting.
