Synopsis
Walt Kowalski is a hardened Korean War veteran and retired autoworker living alone in a Detroit neighbourhood that has changed around him. Bitter and estranged from his family, he wants nothing to do with the Hmong immigrants next door - until a troubled teenage boy tries to steal his prized 1972 Gran Torino. What follows is an unlikely friendship that forces Walt to confront his own prejudices and the violence threatening those he has come to protect.
