Vintage Gunze Sangyo High-Tech Model Panther Sd.Kfz.171 Ausf. G, 1/35 scale. This is an early first-lot issue dated October 1987, manufactured and printed in Japan.
This was one of Gunze Sangyo’s premium High-Tech armor kits, combining conventional plastic parts with white-metal components, photo-etched metal details, and a turned-brass gun barrel.
The kit remains factory sealed in its original shrink wrap and has never been opened.
The English description printed on the box reads:
“Panzerkampfwagen V Ausf.G Panther” was one of the best tanks in World War II. It is no exaggeration to say that its silhouette with massive impression from a long barrel 75mm cannon and large diameter wheels is the very origin of modern tanks.
This kits is a reproduction of Ausf G, which Germany manufactured 3,000 tanks of during 1944 and 1945 to consolidate its armored troops and assigned a number of for the battle of Ardennes.
The kit consists of white metal, photo-etched, brass-turned and plastic parts;
White metal: mantlet, sprocket wheels, idler wheels, cupola, hatches, machine-gun, suction-fan, exhaust-pipes, tool-boxes, tools, some upper structure of body, etc.
Photo-etched: Air-intake covers, side-fender, racks for spare tracks, hooks, etc.
Brass-turned: barrel
Plastic: body (upper and lower), gun turret, tracks. Besides, its front fenders are made by press-molding.
The kit itself is an accurate materials for the study of Panther. This is really an indispensable model for your tank collection.

The box also gives the following specifications for the Panther:
Factory sealed in excellent vintage condition. Original shrink wrap remains intact.
The box has a very small, shallow bend/dent that is barely visible and does not affect the contents. There is minor age/storage wear to the original shrink wrap consistent with a kit of this age. Please review the photographs for exact cosmetic condition.
Because the kit remains factory sealed, the contents have not been opened or individually inventoried.
The “1st lot, 10/1987” marking is particularly useful for dating this example: it is an original 1987 first-production issue, rather than simply a later boxing of an older tooling.
