A very rare & unique vintage drawing pantograph, historically use giving it wonderful patina but in great condition, with all moving parts in full working order.

The timber box is in great aged condition, again in full working order, with a felt lining where the brass lays.
A 'Hope slide rule' sticker is applied to the front of the case. As it appears to be a sticker, it hasn't been removed and I do not wish to do this and am therefore unsure if this is the original case.
However, all the parts fit perfect and belong in this box in my opinion.

Title: Vintage Super Takeda’s Precision Brass Technical Pantograph Drafting Machine – 100% Complete with Original Wood Case & Anchor Weight

Item Description:
Up for auction is a magnificent, exceptionally rare piece of vintage Japanese engineering: an authentic Super Takeda’s Precision Technical Drawing Pantograph Machine.
Crafted from heavy solid brass, this professional-grade analog mapping and scaling instrument is an absolute collector’s dream.

Unlike standard student models made of wood or tin, this is a heavy-duty, high-precision instrument built by Takeda in Japan for professional draftsmen, cartographers, and architects to scale, enlarge, or reduce complex blueprints and maps.

Condition & Completeness:

This set is 100% complete and fully operational, which is incredibly rare for technical instruments of this vintage.

It features the distinctive, original red "Super Takeda’s Drawing Instruments" manufacturer's sticker inside the box.

What is Included in this Set:

Solid Brass Folding Arm Mechanism:
The heavy brass arms are intact with all original mechanical linkage screws, scale bars, and ratio markings cleanly visible.

Heavy Triangular Anchor Base:
Includes the vital, heavy triangular metal pole block with the protruding vertical pivot rod. (The machine cannot function without this heavy anchor weight!).

Remote Lead-Lift Mechanism:
Complete with the original metal rod/pin and attached lift-string used by the draftsman to lift the pencil lead remotely from the tracing arm.

Original Spares & Castors:
Includes the original rolling wheels/castors that attach under the heavy brass joints to ensure smooth gliding across a drafting table.

Original Fitted Wooden Chest:
Housed in its original heavy timber storage box with dedicated compartments for the components. The box shows beautiful vintage character and wear consistent with age, protecting the instrument perfectly. Labelled Hope slide rule.

Mechanical Condition:

The brass joints move smoothly and the mechanical links align perfectly. The brass features a wonderful, authentic excellent condition.

Shipping & Handling:

Due to the heavy weight of the solid brass components, the cast iron anchor block, and the solid wood chest, this item is quite heavy. It will be meticulously bubble-wrapped, double-boxed, and shipped via a fully tracked and insured premium courier service to ensure it arrives safely. International bidders are welcome via the eBay Global Shipping Programme.
