Up for auction are these 3 dinosaur coast Whitby fossil Belemnite phragmacone all in differing condition having found in nodules and opened to reveal the body structures as can be seen in the pictures.
These were prehistoric Squid type creatures that swam alongside ammonites and sea creatures 180 million years ago in the Jurassic period of time.
Located and found in remote and dangerous locations along the Whitby coastline.
These specimens are ideal for preparation by palaeontologists,fossil collectors,museums,students and general collectors and for children’s first fossils as they are almost complete.
With the right equipment they can also be cut in half and polished to reveal beautiful detail of the inner chambers ideal for display.
As expected fossils such as these are of a nice size,weighty and bulky and are just under 2 kilo in total weight
